Warning Signs of Prostate Cancer

  • Blood in urine (hematuria)
  • Pain or difficulty urinating
  • Increased frequency of urination, often at night (nocturia)
  • Increased voiding urgency
  • Hesitant or intermittent urinary flow
  • Trouble having or keeping an erection (erectile dysfunction)
  • Unusual and unexplained weight loss
  • Unusual and unexplained weight loss
  • Continual pain in bones of lower back, hips or pelvis

*All symptoms listed may be due to benign conditions of the prostate or other conditions entirely unrelated to prostate cancer. Weakness or numbness in the lower extremities, for example, would not only be a symptom of far advanced prostate cancer with spread to the spine but a symptom of virtually any advanced malignancy, as well as other conditions such as a herniated disc or spinal stenosis.
